History

Hutchison Ports LCT located in the state of Michoacan, on the west coast of Mexico, and with an important area of ​​national influence which started operations on November 19, 2003.

And it is not until May 29, 2004 when operations began formally with the shipping line CP Ships, getting a weekly arrival. The first ship was the Lykes Deliverer with 393 containers moved. On August 29 of that year it welcomed the world’s largest shipping company MAERSK Sealand with the docking of 3 vessels per week.

Today is the largest terminal of the Mexican Port system and it is still expanding. It all started on a virgin piece of land with a waterfront on the north channel of the Port of Lazaro Cardenas, with a total area of ​​122 hectares, with 1,480 m of waterfront and with a dynamic capacity of up to 2.6 million TEUs.

This New Terminal is developed in three phases, of which the second phase is the New Container Terminal, unique in its kind and inaugurated in October 2014.

The vast experience of Hutchison Ports backs this port development project in the state of Michoacan; for its infrastructure and state-of-the-art technology, capable of receiving vessels of the last generation, able to successfully attend the dynamic and growing foreign trade.
